Medford is a hamlet in Brookhaven. With all of the amenities of Brookhaven, from beaches to educational adventures, coupled with the wonderful family fun opportunities in Medford, it is no surprise that Medford is a wonderful location for residents of Long Island and for visitors of Long Island to lodge. Medford offers amusement parks, including Boomers Family Fun Center, the Country Fair Park and Kid’s Kingdom, golfing opportunities and educational opportunities of its own, including the Brookhaven Firefighters’ Museum.

Due to Medford’s location in Long Island’s “Pine Barrens,” the area is poor for farming. Medford began as a community around the Long Island Railroad’s Medford Station. Housing developments slowly grew up around Medford for its convenience to the rest of Long Island’s attraction. Soon the community was a bustling attraction of its own, still entertaining families who visit and reside there.
